Awards and Recognition


The St. Julie Billiart Award

This award is given to the senior who best exemplifies the qualities of St. Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, the same sisters who founded Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School. He/she should possess a selfless nature, joyful disposition, and dedication to students, staff and community. This student should also have a relationship with God that is exemplified in daily life experiences.

The Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN Award

Sister Dorothy Stang, SNDdeN spent her life creating communities of hope throughout the Amazon region of Brazil.  Her deep prayerfulness, tenacious spirit, and passion for justice led her to speak out for the rights and dignity of all people and creation.  This award recognizes the senior who exemplifies the spirit of Sister Dorothy in word and example in our NDCR community.

Founder’s Award

In 2004, Sister Mary Murphy, a woman of vision, perseverance and integrity, took a risk and stepped out in faith with unyielding determination and the support of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur to build from the ground up what today is known as Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School. This award is given to the student who exemplifies the virtues and spirit of Sister Mary Murphy, founder and first president of NDCR.

The Movimiento Pro Cultura Award

The Movimiento Pro Cultura is a non-profit organization which aims to promote the positive values of different cultures. This award was given to Notre Dame Cristo Rey seniors who best demonstrated the importance of their cultures in written essays selected by members of the Movimiento Pro Cultura organization.  This award is given to:

The Corporate Work Study Award

We are proud to be one of 32 Cristo Rey schools across the country who employ an innovative work-study model that provides our students a unique opportunity for learning outside the classroom.  The Corporate Work Study Award is conferred upon a student who, in the eyes of the Corporate Work Study staff, has best demonstrated four years of excellence by going above and beyond, consistently exhibiting outstanding performance in the Work Study Program.
